Virginia Consortium of Quilters

The Virginia Consortium of Quilters (VCQ) is the statewide guild supporting quilters and the art of quilting throughout Virginia. VCQ meets three times a year for in-person meetings (with classes) and providing zoom workshops three times a year. On the first day of each month ONLY, we call all quilt related businesses, teachers, shops, private instructors, and groups to publicize their retreats, classes, special events, sales, services, and shows. Peninsula Modern Quilt Guild

Located in Hamptons Roads, Virginia, the Peninsula Modern Quilt Guild was founded in 2013 and joined the Modern Quilt Guild in 2014. We are a dynamic group of sewists of every skill level dedicated to expanding our quilting knowledge and making a difference in our community.

The PMQG is an affiliate member of the Modern Quilt Guild Inc., also referred to as “MQG”.

​Peninsula Angel Quilters

We are a 100% volunteer run 501(c)3 non-profit organization that makes and donates quilts to children in need in the Hampton Roads area. 

Our volunteers have a wide variety of skills and expertise in quilting and sewing, ranging from beginners to seasoned quilters. Whether you just learned how to turn on a sewing machine, or are a seasoned pro, we would love to have you join us!​

In addition to donating to children in need, we strive to be as zero-waste as possible by recycling our scraps into pillowcases, sewing them shut and donating them to local animal shelters to be used as pet beds.

We meet in the basement of St. Andrews Episcopal Church located at

45 Main Street in Newport News.

Our entrance is off of River Road through the playground, we have signs to help lead the way. ​​ 

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am-3:00pm
